What Is Happening?

Menopause is a normal part of aging. It occurs when you stop menstruating and officially marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years; however, there are some stages leading up to menopause.

Perimenopause is a transition period and can start 8-10 years prior to menopause. During this time, women can experience significant hormonal changes.

In the final 1-2 years, the drop in estrogen accelerates, and many women start experiencing menopause symptoms like hot flashes, sleep disruptions, mood swings, anxiety, etc.

Hot flashes and night sweats are the most common symptoms of menopause, affecting some 80% of women.
